The TAMU IT Status Page, powered by Atlassian Statuspage, is a communication tool designed to keep you informed about outages, scheduled maintenance, and critical IT service disruptions. This lexicon is provided to help you, the subscriber, better understand the terminology used on the status page—such as Impact levels, Incident Status, and Affected Services—so you can quickly interpret what’s happening and how it may affect you.

Impact: What does the Impact (Color) mean?

Definition: This section describes the severity of the issue's impact on IT services and the extent of the disruption and its potential effects on operations. The colors represent the color of the message box that you will see. Note: Operation and Planned Maintenance colors are listed in the Service Affected Area.

Minor
 
Low impact on service performance or availability. Only some users are affected by this event
Major
 
Significant impact on service performance or availability and hindering daily operations. Many users may be affected by this event
Critical
 
Severe impact on service performance or availability, severely hindering or disabling operations. Most or all users are affected by this event

Incident Status: What is the Status of a Service mean

Definition: This section describes the current state of an issue affecting IT services and the progress of the investigation and resolution efforts. 

  • Investigating - The issue has been reported and is currently being examined.
  • Identified - The cause of the issue has been determined, and efforts to resolve it are underway.
  • Monitoring - Mitigation has been applied; the service is being observed to ensure the issue does not recur.
  • Resolved - The issue has been fixed, and services are back to normal.
     

Service Affected: What does the Service Affected mean?

Definition: This section displays the operational status and performance of IT services, indicating any current issues. It appears as an expandable list located below the current events and above scheduled maintenances.  The definition of the status is in the color listed.

Operational
 
The service is functioning correctly without any issues.
Degraded Performance
 
The service functions and users are able to use it. However, users may experience a reduction in performance with slower response times.
Partial Outage
 
The service is experiencing significant issues where some functions are not working, but others are still functional.
Major Outage
 
The service is experiencing a critical issue impacting most or all functionalities.
Under Maintenance
 
The service is temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance.
