Gateway - Setting up Password Recovery

Introduction

This document presents instructions regarding how to set up password recovery for your NetID password via text message.

1. Visit the Aggie Account Gateway at http://gateway.tamu.edu.
    
2. Log in with your NetID and your NetID password.
    
3. On the right-hand side of the page, under "I want to...", click on set up Password Recovery.
    
4. Toggle the button on the right-hand side and you will be presented with input boxes. You will need to input an email that is not associated with TAMU and a phone number.
    
5. You will now receive a confirmation code via text message to your mobile phone.
   
   
    
6. Confirm your SMS phone number by entering the confirmation code in the “Confirmation Code” field.
   
   
    
7. Click Submit.
    
8. You should now see a message stating that your password recovery phone number has been confirmed. You will also be reminded that you need to confirm your password recovery email address, if you have not already done so.
   
   
    
9. Confirm your email address by clicking the link in the email that has been sent to your alternate email address.
   
   
    
10. You should now see a message stating that your password recovery settings have been updated successfully.
