Overview
Here are the instructions on how to configure a PlayStation to the ResNet network on Campus.
Playstation 4
- Boot up the PlayStation without any disk in the drive wait for the menu to pop up.
- Navigate to the Settings icon.
- Scroll to System.
- Select System Information.
- Locate the Mac Address for LAN (Ethernet).
- Open a web browser on a different device and go to https://resnet.tamu.edu to register your PlayStation's MAC address.
- Click Register your Device and follow the next prompts.
- Enter the MAC Address listed in your Playstation's System information.
- Select Register.
- Once you have registered the PlayStation, unplug the ethernet cable from it.
- Power down the PlayStation, wait for it to completely turn off then plug the ethernet cable back in.
- Wait about a minute to make sure ResNet fully registers the device then turn it back on.
Playstation 5
- Power on the PS5 without a disc in the system.
- In the PS5 menu, arrow up and select Settings.
- Scroll down to Network.
- Scroll down to View Connection Status.
- The MAC Address will be listed next to MAC Address (LAN).
- Open a web browser on a different device and go to https://resnet.tamu.edu to register your PlayStation's MAC address.
- Click Register your Device and follow the next prompts.
- Enter the MAC Address listed in your Playstation's System information.
- Select Register.
- Once you have registered the PlayStation, unplug the ethernet cable from it.
- Power down the PlayStation, wait for it to completely turn off then plug the ethernet cable back in.
- Wait about a minute to make sure ResNet fully registers the device then turn it back on.
