Infoblox - How to Add an A Record

The following video demonstrated how to add an A Record in Infoblox.

Steps from the video are listed below:

  1. Click on the Data Management tab.
  2. Click on the DNS sub tab.
  3. Click on Shared Record Groups.
  4. Use the filter as necessary to find your record.
  5. Click the down arrow next to "Add"
  6. Choose "Shared Record" then "Shared A Record".
  7. Enter a name for your host.
  8. The Shared Record Group should be the sub-domain that your A Record is to be located in.
  9. Next you can input the exact IP address that you wish to attach the A Record to, you can also click on "Next Available IP" to add one automatically.
  10. Add any relevant comments and click Next.
  11. Add any extensible attributes, such as location, type, or even the location of associated documentation, then click Next.
  12. Choose whether to add the A Record now or schedule it to be added at a later time.
  13. You will now see the A Record listed under Shared Record Groups.
  14. To check the addition, you can navigate to the appropriate network under the IPAM tab.
  15. You may need to use the filter if the list of networks is too long.
  16. Due to split DNS the A Record should appear twice.
  17. You can also use the list view under IPAM to find your A Record.
