Notification Methods:

Computer Alerts (College Station)

Texas A&M University students, faculty and staff can receive Code Maroon computer alerts by installing the Desktop Notifier on personal computers or laptops. The alerts will only be received if your computer is connected to the Texas A&M Network. The Desktop Notifier is enabled on all classroom computers and computers managed by the Open Access Labs. Contact your IT support staff to see whether you have the Desktop Notifier installed on your university-owned computer. The Desktop Notifier can be installed at https://codemaroon.tamu.edu/AccountSettingsDesktop.aspx

Computer Alerts (Law School)

Texas A&M University students, faculty and staff can receive Law Alerts by installing the Desktop Notifier on personal computers or laptops. Contact your IT support staff to see whether you have the Desktop Notifier installed on your university-owned computer.

Computer Alerts (HECM)

Texas A&M University students, faculty and staff can receive HECM Alerts by installing the Desktop Notifier on personal computers or laptops. Contact your IT support staff to see whether you have the Desktop Notifier installed on your university-owned computer.

Can I install the Desktop Notifier on my personal computer or laptop?

Yes. You must have administrative rights for your computer in order to install the Desktop Notifier. To download:

  1. Go to codemaroon.tamu.edu.
  2. Click on Campus Members and log in with your credentials.
  3. Choose the Computer Alerts tab and follow the steps to download.

After downloading the Notifier, click installation instructions for Mac or installation instructions for Windows and follow the step-by-step guide.

How do I install the Desktop Notifier on my computer or laptop?

How do I uninstall the Desktop Notifier on my computer or laptop?

You must have administrative rights for your computer in order to uninstall Desktop Notifier. Click instructions for uninstalling on Mac or instructions for uninstalling on Windows and follow the step-by-step guide.

How do I know if the Desktop Notifier is installed on my computer?

When the Desktop Notifier is installed and monitoring properly, a purple globe icon will be displayed in the taskbar on your computer. If a globe icon with a red “X” over it is displayed, you will not receive computer alerts. For questions, contact Help Desk Central at (979) 845-8300.

How do I know if my computer is connected to the Texas A&M Network?

Computers that are on-campus and connected through TAMU WiFi wireless or a physical internet connection are connected to the Texas A&M Network. Off-campus users must use VPN to connect to the Texas A&M Network in order to receive computer alerts.

Can I receive computer alerts for more than one campus?

No. You can only receive computer alerts from one campus. For information about additional Code Maroon Notification Methods available to your campus, visit codemaroon.tamu.edu, select your campus from the menu, and click on Notification Methods.
