Introduction

When creating your people.tamu.edu website you will need to access your Unix Drive(commonly referred to as the U Drive). In this drive will be the Index HTML file that you will use to modify your website and use for classes. You can only access this drive through the VOAL or OAL computers. The U drive should appear 24 hours after you enable your people website, which you can do from the website https://oalinfo.tamu.edu/ under Account Services and Set up my Web Page. If the U drive does not show or you cannot wait 24 hours then you can manually map the drive to gain access. 

Instructions

• On the OAL or VOAL computer open up Chrome and go to https://oalinfo.tamu.edu/
• Go to Account Services and Under View My Account there should be a "'People Web Path" as long as your people website is enabled
• Copy that File Path and open up File Explorer 
• In File Explorer right-click on This PC on the left-hand side
• Select Map network drive...
• In the new window, for Drive, select U: and paste your People Web Path into the Folder text box
• Click Finish
• You have now mapped your U Drive and the Index File will be displayed there.
