As you may or may not know, Windows 10 is on borrowed time. In October 2025 Microsoft will discontinue support and patching of security vulnerabilities for Windows 10. Consequently, IT has begun proactively upgrading all TAMUQ computers to Windows 11.
It is extremely important that we identify and upgrade any Windows 10 computers before October. This is where we need your help. If you are using or are responsible for any Windows 10 desktops or laptops in your office or laboratory environments, please contact the Service Desk as soon as possible. We will work with you to determine the best course of action in order to upgrade these machines to Windows 11 in a timely manner.
TAMUQ IT services like VPN, Microsoft 365, and DUO will begin to reject Windows 10 computers. After 13 November, we will begin blocking Windows 10 computers from accessing the TAMUQ network.
