MATLAB Installation on Personal Device

Description

MATLAB is an interactive software that helps to iterate analysis and design processes using a programming language.

Texas A&M University at Qatar Faculty and students are eligible to download and install this product on your personally-owned computers.

This article will guide you on how you can purchase Matlab on Software Center at no cost, create your MathWorks Account, download MathWorks and activate your MathWorks account.

You do not need to connect to TAMUQ VPN to download or use Matlab.

Purchase MATLAB on Software Center

1) Go to https://software.tamu.edu and login with your TAMU NetID credentials.

2) Choose College Station/Galveston/Qatar/Prairie View, Remember for session and Select

3) You will notice a number of software titles with varying prices. Select Matlab 2021 Win/Mac/Linux.

4) Proceed with the checkout process and enter your @tamu.edu email address when prompted.

5) Once the software has been purchased, you will receive an email within 8 hours with installation and activation instructions as shown below

Creating a MathWorks Account

1) Go to MathWorks Account

2) Click on Create Account

3) Enter your details TAMU NetID credentials.

Email Address: Your TAMU Username@tamu.edu
Location: Qatar
Which best describes you?: Choose your membership (Student or Teacher/Researcher in academia)

Complete the rest and click on Create

4) Open your TAMU email, click on the link sent to you to verify your email address

Complete the information provided, accept the Online Services Agreement and click on Create to see your homepage

Download MATLAB and License

1) Login to your account here

2) Go to My Account home page, if not shown, and click on the download icon.

3) Click on the one that appears at the centre to download the latest version.

4) Select the type of device and click on Run when a pop-up showed below the screen.

5) Complete the Installation and sign in with your account details (NetID@tamu.edu)

6) Accept the License Agreement and click Next.

7) Select Licenses and click Next

8) Select the products you need from the 90 products to download them. The recommended (MATLAB, Simulink, etc) ones should be selected.

NB: You don't have to select everything if you don't need them. The more you select, the more the installation time will increase (it will take more than 2 hrs to complete if you mark too many products).
