As many of you are aware, the Project Drives (P:) are being phased out in favor of the cloud-based Texas A&M Google Shared Drive service. This is part of the Technology Services transition plan to enable workforce mobility, reduce the footprint on our datacenter, and leverage existing Texas A&M service offerings. Google Shared Drives are a cloud-based file storage and sharing solution that has been licensed by Technology Services for all employees and students of TAMUQ. Google Shared Drives can be created by any employee or student (including adjunct faculty) and can be shared with anyone inside or outside of Texas A&M University.
Sunday, May 4th : All Project (P:) Drives will be set to read-only. Users will be able to read and copy files, but writing new files will not be possible.
Sunday, June 1st : All P Drive access will be removed. All existing data at that time will be transferred to long-term storage for retention purposes.
To avoid data loss, please start to copy the P Drives that you want to retain to a new Google Shared Drive to make sure that you will be able to complete all copies before the P Drives will be removed.
