Description
Technology Services - Qatar maintains and supports the university's networking infrastructure to provide connectivity to the local network with the Internet.
Eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, worldwide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. This service allows students, researchers, and staff from participating institutions to obtain internet connectivity across campus and when visiting other participating institutions. Eduroam is available at all branch campuses within Education City, including TAMUQ and the main campus in College Station.
The setup for eduroam is similar to connecting to the "Staff" or "Student" networks at TAMUQ. Select the eduroam SSID (Service Set Identifier) from the available networks on your device and log in with your full TAMU email address (format: NetID@tamu.edu) and associated password.
The access you are granted on the Eduroam network will depend on the credentials you use to authenticate:
NetID: Using a NetID with Eduroam in the TAMUQ building will give you access to the same TAMUQ resources that the Staff\Student networks provide.
All other Eduroam IDs: Guests using any other Eduroam institution ID will get basic internet access.
Make sure to login to eduroam using your TAMU NetID account (NetID@tamu.edu).
Texas A&M Technology Services will be transitioning to the Eduroam wireless network exclusively at the end of the semester.
On May 4th, the Staff & Student wireless networks will no longer be available. The HBKU-Staff and HBKU-Student networks will be unaffected by this change.
