Overview

Workday is the human resources, benefits, and payroll application used by the Texas A&M University System. It combines these functions into one secure cloud-based portal accessible through the Single Sign On (SSO) menu. Below are various resources for employees and managers who are new to Workday.

New Employee Onboarding
  • Onboarding: Provides new employees with guidance on completing the onboarding process in Workday.
  • Onboarding Processes by Security Role: Details the steps within the onboarding process by security role for employees and HR professionals.
  • Complete Your W-4 (Onboarding): Steps for employees to complete their Federal Tax Election Form W-4 in Workday during the onboarding process.
  • GLACIER: A non-resident alien tax compliance system that allows institutions to efficiently collect information, make tax residency and treaty determinations, manage paperwork, maintain data, and file reporting statements with the IRS. 
  • Payment Election Enrollment Event (Onboarding): The process for employees to manage payment elections (direct deposit) during the onboarding process, with the ability to distribute funds over multiple accounts (limit 5).
eLearning for Employees
  • 2114109: Working in Workday for Employees: TrainTraq course designed to introduce the Workday application to Employees within the Texas A&M University System. This is not a required course but highly recommended for new Employees who will use Workday to manage their human resources, payroll and benefits needs. This course is developed by Workday Services, a department within the A&M System Office of Information Technology.

    • Manage Inbox items in the My Tasks profile
    • View payslip and update pay elections
    • Use the Time application to enter time

  • 2114108: Working in Workday for ManagersTrainTraq course designed to introduce the Workday application to Managers within the Texas A&M University System. This is not a required course but highly recommended for new Managers who will use Workday to manage those they supervise. It is advisable that you take Working in Workday for Employees prior to completing this course. This course is developed by Workday Services, a department within the A&M System Office of Information Technology.
