CMP Research Animal Technician I

• The CMP Research Animal Technician I, under general supervision, performs routine husbandry duties for laboratory animals. Sanitizes animal holding rooms and maintains other assigned support areas.

CMP Research Animal Technician II

• The CMP Research Animal Technician II, under general supervision, performs routine and non-routine husbandry duties for specialized research animals and the maintenance of support areas.

CMP Research Animal Technician III

• The CMP Research Animal Technician III, under direction, acts as area leader and performs administrative, husbandry, and technical functions.

CMP Technical Services Specialist I

• The CMP Technical Services Specialist I, under general supervision, assists with research, husbandry, and veterinary needs and activities.

CMP Technical Services Specialist II

• The CMP Technical Services Specialist II, under general supervision, provides para-veterinary health care, and provides assurance health for CMP maintained research animals.

CMP Technical Services Specialist III

• The CMP Technical Services Specialist III, under direction, is responsible for assisting with animal procurement procedures; performing animal health-related activities to include para-veterinary processes and clinical research support; providing technical services involving sample collection and data recording; creating and maintaining animal health records and ensuring facility and equipment cleanliness; instructing animal handling workshops and assisting with short courses; and supervising and training student workers and staff.

Contract Negotiator I

• The Contract Negotiator I, under general supervision, negotiates contracts and assists with post-award contract administration. Writes and reviews agreements and negotiates with sponsors/subcontractors. Reviews and negotiates terms and conditions of award documents to ensure compliance with the Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) policies, Federal and State laws and regulations, and sponsor guidelines.

Contract Negotiator II

• The Contract Negotiator II, under general supervision, negotiates contracts and assists with post-award contract administration. Writes and reviews agreements and negotiates with sponsors/subcontractors. Reviews and negotiates terms and conditions of award documents to ensure compliance with the Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) policies, Federal and State laws and regulations, and sponsor guidelines. Senior Contract Negotiator I

• The Senior Contract Negotiator I, under direction, negotiates contracts and assists with post-award contract administration. Senior Contract Negotiator II

• The Senior Contract Negotiator II, under direction, is responsible for negotiating contracts and assisting with post-award contract administration. Responsible for writing, reviewing and negotiating complex agreements, providing negotiations documentation and support to Principal Investigators, training and mentoring contract negotiator I and II positions and assisting the director and assistant directors with policy and procedure development and strategic planning.

Grant Administrator I

• The Grant Administrator, under general supervision, provides support for grant initiation for post-award administrative paperwork leading to account establishment. Develops sub agreements and reviews budget submissions before final approval. Acts as liaison with compliance committees.

• The Radiation Effects Facility Operator I will work collaboratively with Cyclotron staff to deliver beams to Radiation Effects Facility (REF) customers, maintaining a safe and professional environment.

Radiation Effects Facility Operator II

• The Radiation Effects Facility Operator II (REFO II) will work collaboratively with Cyclotron staff to deliver beams to REF customers, maintaining a safe and professional environment.

Radiation Effects Facility Operator III

• The Radiation Effects Facility Operator III (REFO III) will work collaboratively with Cyclotron staff to deliver beams to REF customers, maintaining a safe and professional environment. Radiation Effects Facility Operator IV

Research Assistant P8

• The Research Assistant P8 provides skilled, administrative, and technical support in research. Assists with phases in a research project. Assists in preparing proposals for funding agencies, operations of research equipment, and other lab/field personnel in research. Collaborates with other research personnel.

Research Associate P9

• The Research Associate P9 performs independent research activities requiring an advanced level of knowledge in a field of science or learning and required consistent use of discretion and judgement. Provides strategic advice on best practices in compliance, ensuring proactive adherence to evolving federal regulations, institutional policies, and guidelines.

Assistant Director, Research Institute

• The Assistant Director, Research Institute, under direction, is responsible for the day-to-day management, leadership, and development of portfolios of research within the strategic plan. Provides operational leadership to research teams, conducts independent research activities, assists leadership in all aspects of unit finances and budgeting. The Assistant Director, Research Institute provides strategic advice on best practices in research design and development, research management, and the research landscape.

Associate Director, Research Development Services

• The Associate Director of Research Development Services (RDS), under general direction, is responsible for overseeing the coordination and administration of various programs within or assigned to RDS, including planning, organizing, staffing, and training; offering strategic review of proposals and linking professional development efforts in Research Development Services to other units and program.

Captain - Near Coastal

• The Captain – Near Coastal, under general direction, is responsible for the safe navigation and operation of University vessels in near coastal waters (up to 200 miles offshore), serving as vessel master; supervises students and operators and trains them on safe operation practices and safe maneuvering of vessels through various situations.

Chief Engineer

• The Chief Engineer (C/E), under direction, is responsible for all operations and maintenance that have to do with all engineering equipment throughout the entire ship. The C/E is never responsible for the action of ship. The C/E does not assume command of the ship and the command always rests with the deck officers unless it is clearly mentioned within the safety management system. The C/E will ultimately designate all the duties of the engine depart necessary with the first assistant engineer.

Chief Mate

• The Chief Mate, under direction, is second to the Master in the chain of command and the Master’s direct representative. S/he is expected to assume the position and responsibility of the Master should the Master for any cause, be unable to perform his/her duties. S/he oversees the condition, appearance and safety of the vessel and the ship’s work and drills. All officers are under his/her orders in matters pertaining to operation and maintenance of the vessel—except for those matters that are the direct responsibility of the Chief Engineer. S/he shall aid the Master in every way and see that all officers are vigilant in performance of their duties and that they conform to orders.

Marine Maintenance Supervisor

• The Marine Maintenance Supervisor, under general supervision, supervises marine maintenance technicians and student workers. Coordinates repairs with outsourced contractors to minimize down-time of the vessel or equipment. Oversees repair maintenance requests into maintenance tracking software as issues arise or are reported.

Master of the Training Ship

• The Master of the Training Ship, under general direction, is responsible for navigating vessel safely, ensure readiness, maintenance and well-being of vessel and crew, and compliance with all USCG-mandated emergency drills and procedures.

Port Captain

• The Port Captain, under general direction, is responsible for overseeing sub-chapter T and uninspected vessels, supervises departmental vessel captains to ensure that departmental vessels are crewed, operated, and maintained per regulatory requirements, as well as university standards and expectations. The Port Captain is also responsible for voyage planning, capital, and shipyard projects as well as marine facilities. Supervisor, CMP Research Animal

• The CMP Research Animal Supervisor supervises and oversees the day-to-day activities and responsibilities of CMP animal care staff. Performs routine and non-routine husbandry duties and cares for research animals for assigned conventional, specific pathogen free (SPF), biohazard contained, and barrier reared laboratory animal colonies. Marine Logistics Coordinator

• The Coordinator, Marine Logistics, under direction, coordinates port call logistics activities with the drilling subcontractor logistics manager. Establishes and maintains a logistical liaison effort to support an annually funded NSF contract operating in all areas of the world. Plans, controls, and guides the flow of people and materials to and from the current operating area. Establishes, operates for approximately ten days, and closes down field offices annually in foreign and domestic ports.
