Each year Texas A&M University joins colleges and universities across the country in recognizing the importance of the student employee experience during National Student Employment Week. Student employment offers students career-enhancing opportunities, the ability to develop skills relevant in any career, and preparation for the job market upon graduation.
National Student Employment Week (NSEW) enables us to recognize and thank student employees for the contributions they make as employees of the University and the Bryan/College Station community. Student employees perform invaluable services with enthusiasm, dedication, and initiative. In fact, most schools and surrounding businesses depend on the contributions of this reliable workforce for the efficient operation of the campus and community.
Important FERPA Information: Please remember that employment records for individuals working in positions that require student status are subject to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). As a result, a student’s status as a student employee or graduate assistant may not be disclosed without an applicable FERPA exception or the student’s prior written consent (see Consent for Disclosure of Student Status Related to Employment).
If you plan to recognize or feature student employees or graduate assistants by sharing identifying information (such as names, photos, or job details) on University websites, social media, or other public platforms, please contact your HR Professional to confirm that the student has completed the Consent for Disclosure of Student Status Related to Employment form and has approved employment related disclosure.
