Overview
While connected to the wired on campus network, ResNet, resident may notice a strict NAT type on their video game consoles. The strict NAT type is due to the configuration of our campus firewall.
It is not possible to achieve more than a strict NAT type on campus, including in the dorms. Our campus firewall is configured to block all unsolicited incoming traffic which can affect the hosting/playing of multiplayer games. Also, due to changes in network configuration, students living in the Residence Halls will no longer be able to request a port opening for their devices.
