TAMU Gmail - Forwarding to Exchange

Overview

If you use an Exchange email account as your primary email, you can configure your Texas A&M Gmail to forward to that account. This document will provide step by step instructions for configuring email forwarding on Texas A&M Gmail.

Exercise caution when forwarding any Texas A&M Email address. Texas A&M University Standard Administrative Procedure 29.01.03.M0.07, Information Resources - Enterprise Email Services, paragraph 4.3 states, "Private email accounts shall not be used for conducting university business." Forwarding your Texas A&M Email to a non- TAMU email account may run afoul of this rule.
   

How to configure forwarding

  1. Log into your Texas A&M Gmail account.
      
  2. Click on the gear icon in the top right of the site, and click Settings [fig. 01].

  3. Click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab [fig. 02].

  4. In the Forwarding section, click Add a forwarding address [fig. 03].

  5. Enter the Exchange email address you would like to forward the messages to and click Next [fig. 04].

  6. Confirm that the address is correct, and click Proceed [fig. 05].

  7. Check the option for Forward a copy of incoming mail to and select the email address you would like forward to [fig. 06].

  8. Click Save Changes.
