Description
This article describes procedures on how to change or update your TAMUQ campus email password. Please update all computing resources (email, wifi, applications) and devices (mobile, laptop, tablet) with the new password to avoid account lockout.
Password Complexity Requirements
* Do not include personal information
* Cannot use an old password (last 6 passwords remembered)
* It must be at least eight characters in length It must contain characters from three of the following:
* English uppercase characters (A through Z)
* English lowercase characters (a through z)
* Non-alphabetic special characters (for example, !, $, #, %)
* Numbers (for example, 1,2,3,4)
Passwords can only be changed once every 24 hours.
Ways to change a TAMUQ account password
These are the methods to change your TAMUQ account password
TAMUQ domain computer
Using a domain laptop off-campus, please ensure that you are connected to TAMUQ VPN before proceeding with the next steps.
1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, and then click Change a password.
2. Type your old password, type your new password, type your new password again to confirm it, and then press Enter.
Microsoft Outlook
1. To update your TAMUQ password, go to https://outlook.office.com/ and enter your TAMUQ Email address and password.
2. At the top right corner, click on Your Name. A drop-down box will appear and select "View account."
3. You will then be redirected to a new window. Then, select "Change password."
4. Type New password and Confirm new password, and click Submit.
