This article describes Technology Services exit procedures for employees and students of Texas A&M University at Qatar.
Employee Out-Processing: An exiting employee comes to Service Desk by their last day on campus (or the last day of their employment contract, whichever comes first) to return their laptop and phone.
Account Policy: Account/email access will be automatically disabled three days after the employment end date. If an account extension is required, the exiting supervisor needs to submit an Account Extension request catalog.
Abandoned Data Policy: Technology Services will not retain data that is abandoned by a former employee. If you are the owner of a file or folder on the I or P Drive, please delete the file or folder, or transfer ownership to another member of your department.
TAMU Google Apps Policy: Access to TAMU Google Apps will be removed. Any documents created in Google Drive will be deleted by Google, the TAMU Technology Services has two weeks from the employment end date to restore any needed documents or files. Equipment Policy: All other TAMUQ-issued equipment (WHICH MAY INCLUDE desktop computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, docking station, printer, scanner, and/or other equipment) should be left at your desk for collection by Technology Services.

If an account extension is required, the exiting supervisor needs to submit an Account Extension request. Technology Services allows a 30-day extended email access only. Equipment Policy: All other TAMUQ-issued equipment (WHICH MAY INCLUDE desktop computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, docking station, printer, scanner, and/or other equipment) that have not reached end-of-life will be transferred to HBKU IT inventory. Equipment older than 48 months will not be transferred but retired following HBKU policy.
All desktops, laptops, and mobile devices must be sanitized by TAMUQ Technology Services before the transfer of assets to HBKU IT.
Student Out-Processing: A graduating or withdrawing student returns to Service Desk their student laptop (if TAMUQ issued one to them). When a student withdraws or graduates from TAMUQ all of their access is disabled, except email access and Office 365 applications. Effective October 2025, Technology Services is shortening the account life cycle for graduating students to 6 months.
