Graduate Assistant Employee Benefits

Overview
Graduate Assistant student employees at Texas A&M University are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance. These benefits are designed to support the health and well-being of graduate student employees while they pursue their academic goals.
Use this service request to ask questions about:
  • Enrollment:  Graduate Assistant employees will enroll in their insurance through Workday.  Those without a Graduate Assistantships may enroll directly through Academic Health Plans if seeking insurance coverage.  International students on F-1 or J-1 visas automatically have an international student insurance fee placed on their tuition and fee statement.
  • Health Insurance: Learn about the health insurance options available to graduate student employees.
  • Eligibility: Find out who is eligible for graduate benefits.
  • Insurance Premiums: Get information on the cost of premiums.  Employee premiums are automatically collected on your paycheck.
Eligibility
Graduate students employed in a graduate assistantship who work at least 20 hours per week for 4.5 months or longer are eligible for benefits through their employment.
