Educational Assistance Benefits

• Employee Tuition Assistance:  Provides financial support for eligible employees to pursue higher education. 
• Doctoral Education Program:  Offers full-time, budgeted employees at A&M System universities, agencies, and offices payment or reimbursement of tuition and mandatory fees for approved doctoral programs.  *Refer to the Doctoral Education Program Eligibility section below for end dates to the program.
• Educational Release Time:  Allows eligible full-time employees to attend classes during work hours with approval.
• Fee Exemption Through Student Business Services: Eligible Texas A&M staff and faculty in College Station can request an exemption from paying the student center complex fee, recreation sports fee, and health center fees.
• Dependent Child of Texas A&M Employee Scholarships:  Provides scholarships up to $2,000 per year for dependent children of Texas A&M University faculty, staff, and support staff. 

All full-time Texas A&M employees are eligible for Educational Assistance Benefits. Specific eligibility criteria apply depending on the program, such as the Employee Tuition Assistance Program, which requires six months of service.

*The Doctoral Education Program will not accept new participants after May 15, 2025. All participants accepted into the program as of May 15, 2025 will continue to receive funding until May 31, 2028. System members participating in the program will continue to invoice the System Office as detailed in these guidelines. *Please note that all Texas A&M applications will be due on May 15 per the application process outlined here.

• 31.99.01 Employees Registering as Students:  Outlines the rights and duties of employees within the Texas A&M University System, including fair treatment, ethical conduct, and grievance procedures.
