Submit a Background Check Request

Overview
The Submit a Background Check Request service allows hiring managers and HR professionals at Texas A&M University to initiate and manage background checks for processes not connected with a requisition (i.e. Direct Hires, Internal Promotions or Transfers, Volunteers, etc.).  Criminal Background Checks can be requested for faculty, volunteers, and others not using the Hire/Onboarding form in Laserfiche  by completing the appropriate forms.   For assistance, please contact your HR Customer Support Hub.
Use this service request to ask questions about:
  • Submit a Background Check Request:  Start the background check process for Faculty, Volunteers, Camp Volunteers' or Other Processes which includes a criminal history, education verification, and employment history.  *Please note, this service is not needed for positions hired through a job requisition in Workday or hired through the Laserfiche Onboarding process.*
Eligibility
Criminal Background Checks can be requested for faculty, volunteers, and others not using the Hire/Onboarding form in Laserfiche. This includes Direct Hires, Internal Promotions, Transfers, and Volunteers. Background checks for staff, students, and temp/casual hires will be initiated through the hiring process and do not need to be requested through this service.

You will receive an open ticket notification.  If additional information is needed, you will be contacted by the respective support team.  Ticket status can be tracked in the portal under the View Tickets tab.
