Overview

Perplexity allows you to export your research threads, conversations, and account data in multiple formats. Whether you need to save a single thread for offline access or request a complete backup of your account data, Perplexity provides flexible export options to meet your needs. This guide explains how to export individual threads and how to request a full account data export.

Exporting Individual Threads and Research

You can access your research threads, pages, and collections (called Spaces in Perplexity) offline using the following methods.

Export an Entire Thread as a Document

  1. Click on a specific thread in Perplexity.

  2. In the upper right corner of your screen, click the three dots menu button to the left of the Share button.
  3. Select Export as PDF, Export as Markdown, or Export as DOCX to download a formatted document in your preferred format.

Copy Individual Chat Interactions

To save specific responses or exchanges from a thread, click the copy button at the end of each chat interaction you want to preserve. Paste the copied content into a local document such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs.

Copy an Entire Thread

To save all content from a thread at once, highlight all the text within the thread using your mouse or keyboard. Press Ctrl+C on Windows or Cmd+C on Mac to copy the selected text. Paste the content into a local document such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs.

Exporting Full Account Data

To request a complete export of all your Perplexity account data, including all threads, conversations, and settings, use the official Data Export feature. Perplexity will compile your data and send a download link to your email.

  1. Sign in to your Perplexity account.
  2. Click your name or profile bubble in the lower left corner of the screen.
  3. Select All Settings from the menu that appears.

  4. Click Account in the settings menu.

  5. Find the Data Export option and click Export my data.

  6. Perplexity sends a message with the download link to your Texas A&M University email address. Check your inbox for the email.
  7. Download the zip file containing all your account data.
  8. Verify the contents of the archive before deleting any conversations or closing your account. Ensure all important data is present and intact.
