Overview
Texas A&M Health guests can receive alerts via SMS text messages by creating an account on AppArmor's subscriber portal web site. The guest account will use a personal email address. TAMU Health Alerts apply to the following Texas A&M Health locations:
- Bryan-College Station
- Corpus Christi
- Dallas
- Houston
- Kingsville
- McAllen
- Round Rock
- Temple
Instructions
Create a Guest Subscription
To receive TAMU Health alerts on an SMS text device as a non-affiliate of Texas A&M Health (guest), you will need to first create a guest account on AppArmor's subscriber portal web site. AppArmor is the vendor that sends alert messages for TAMU Health Alerts. Along with your SMS device number, you will provide a personal email address as a username along with a password. Keep your username and password private and secure. IMPORTANT: You can use the same personal email address to create a guest account for our other emergency notification systems, then your same password will also work with the additional guest account.
- Go to https://tamu-health.safety.info/Subscribers/ to open the AppArmor subscriber portal login page for TAMU Health Alerts.
- Click on Create Account below the Sign In button on the right side of the window.
- Enter your full name
- Enter your personal email address. This email address will be your Username for the account. You will receive an instructional email at the personal email address.
- Follow the instructions in the email to set your password. Keep your username and password private and secure.
- Return to the account login page at https://tamu-health.safety.info/Subscribers/.
- Log in with your email address and password under the heading “Sign in with Website Account”.
- Click Sign In.
- Enter your SMS text number,
- Select at least one checkbox for the Texas A&M Health locations from which your device should receive TAMU Health Alerts.
- Click Save Preferences at the bottom of the page.
- Click Sign out to return to the AppArmor subscriber portal login page.
Update an Existing Guest Subscription
If your subscription information changes (SMS number, informational email address, TAMU Health location selections) or you want to temporarily stop receiving text message alerts on your device, then you will need to update your guest subscription.
- Go to https://tamu-health.safety.info/Subscribers/ to open the AppArmor subscriber portal login page for TAMU Health Alerts.
- Enter your email address and password under the heading “Sign in with Website Account”.
- Click Sign In.
- Edit your SMS text number, information email address, and location selections as needed.
- Ensure the checkbox labeled “Receive Code Maroon text messages” is set correctly concerning Code Maroon text message alerts:
- Receive text message alerts: the box must be Checked.
- Temporarily stop receiving text message alerts: the box must be Unchecked.
- Click Save Preferences at the bottom of the page.
- Click Sign out to return to the AppArmor subscriber portal login page.
Stop or Resume Receiving Text Messages from AppArmor
You can stop and restart text messages from AppArmor via text messages.
- Text STOP to 237233 to stop receiving text messages from AppArmor.
- Text START to 237233 to resume receiving tet messages from AppArmor.
For both stopping and restarting messages from AppArmor, you will receive a confirmation text
Delete a Guest Subscription
When you want to delete your subscription(s) from the AppArmor subscriber portal, you must send an email to the Code Maroon support team at codemaroon@tamu.edu. You will need to include the following information in your request:
- State you’d like the support team to delete your AppArmor account(s).
- Include the list of alert systems from which you no longer want to receive alerts. Examples are: “TAMU Health Alerts”, “Code Maroon alerts”, “HECM Alerts”, or “Law Alerts”.
- Include the email address used to login to each guest account.
- Include your name as it appears in each guest account.
- Include the SMS device’s number registered in each guest account.
