Overview
These are steps to help you set up a practice exam with Respondus LockDown Browser using both the Classic or New Quiz feature in Canvas.
Instructions
NOTE: An assessment must already be created so LockDown Browser can be added to it. Currently, LockDown Browser only integrates with Quizzes.
- Navigate to and click Quizzes in the course navigation pane.
- Add a Quiz by clicking the +Quiz button, in the top right corner.
- Choose either Classic or New Quiz from the pop-up window and select Submit.
- Create and set up the quiz (if needed, see steps ‘setup Practice Quiz for Classic Quizzes’ or ‘setup Practice Quiz for New Quizzes’ below.).
Some common best practices around practice quizzes are:
- Consider leaving the available from and until dates open, to allow students the ability to test throughout the entire semester.
- Consider allowing unlimited attempts, to allow as many testing attempts as the students need.
- If applicable, you may consider not counting the grade towards the final grade.
- Navigate to and complete steps found under ‘Enable LockDown Browser’ and ‘Add LockDown Browser and Monitor to Practice Assessment (Quiz)’.
