Dual Employment

Overview
Dual employment occurs when a Texas A&M University employee holds more than one position within the Texas state government, either at Texas A&M or another state agency. This requires approval from both the primary and hiring departments before the employee begins work in the additional position. External employment, where an employee works outside of Texas state government, also requires approval and must comply with specific university regulations.

Eligibility
Dual and external employment policies apply to all Texas A&M University staff, temporary/casual workers, and students who hold more than one position or work outside of the university. Faculty and graduate assistants have separate guidelines and approval processes.
