Community Service and Reads & Counts Tutor Program

Overview

The Community Service Program offers student employment opportunities at local non-profit agencies, government offices, and area high schools, aiming to improve the quality of life for community residents.  The Reads & Counts Tutors Program at Texas A&M University involves Aggies tutoring elementary students in reading and math, providing valuable work experience and financial aid through work-study.

Eligibility
  • To be eligible for the Community Service Program and the Reads and Counts Tutor Program, students must qualify for Federal Work Study.  
  • For Federal and Texas College Work Study Programs, students must demonstrate financial need, be U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents, or Senate Bill 1528 students, and be enrolled at least half-time. They must also have filled out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Texas Application for Student Financial Aid (TASFA).
