Overview

PrinterLogic is the printing solution for campus members at Texas A&M Health. This article includes the steps to install and configure PrinterLogic for macOS. 

PrinterLogic simplifies network printer management by automating printer mapping based on group and location. It allows campus members at Texas A&M Health to connect to printers independently, reducing IT support needs. By streamlining printer management and enabling direct computer-to-printer communication, PrinterLogic eliminates print server issues. This ensures easier, more reliable printer access for the campus community and helps Technology Services match users with the right printers.

Installing PrinterLogic

  1. To install the PrinterLogic browser extension, navigate to https://tamhealthprint.printercloud.com in a web browser. 
    NOTE: This extension is compatible with both Chrome and Microsoft Edge. 
  2. Click Install.

     
  3. In the new browser tab that opens, click on the Edge or Chrome Extension based on the browser you are using. 

     
  4. Click Get (Edge) or Add to Chrome (Chrome). 

     
  5. When prompted, click Add Extension.

     
  6. Before installing the desktop client, determine if your Mac has an Intel processor or Apple silicon. 
    • Click the Apple icon at the top left corner of your screen. 
    • Select About This Mac.
    • In the "About This Mac" window, Mac computers with an Intel processor show an item labeled "Processor," followed by the name of the Intel processor. Mac computers with Apple silicon show an item labeled "Chip," followed by the name of the chip. 
  7. Return to https://tamhealthprint.printercloud.com and refresh the page to install the PrinterLogic desktop client. The client gives you access to the PrinterLogic web portal to install printers. 
  8. Click macOS Intel or macOS Apple Silicon based on the results of step 6. 

     
  9. Once the file has finished downloading, open the file. 
    • If you chose macOS Intel, the file will be named "PrinterInstallerClientSetup.pkg."
    • If you chose macOS Apple silicon, the file will be named "PrinterInstallerClientSetup_arm64.pkg." 
  10. In the installation window, click Continue.

     
  11. Click Continue.

     
  12. To accept the license agreement, click Continue and then Agree

     
  13. Click Continue.

     
  14. For the "Installation Type," click Continue

     
  15. Click Install. If prompted, enter your computer credentials to allow the installation. 

     
  16. Once the installation finishes, click Close

Adding Printers

  1. To add printers, open Microsoft Edge or Chrome and navigate to https://tamhealthprint.printercloud.com.
  2. If you are asked to log in, click HSC PrinterLogic. If you are not asked to log in, skip to step 4. 
    NOTE: If you receive a prompt asking for an authorization code, contact the Health Technology Care Team for further assistance. 
     
     
  3. If prompted, log in with YourNetID@tamu.edu and your NetID password. Complete the Duo Security process, if required. 
  4. You should now be able to access the PrinterLogic web portal. Click your location in the list and navigate to the desired printer. 

     
  5. Click the desired printer in the list. 
  6. When prompted, click Yes.
    NOTE: If you would like to set this printer as your default, click the check box for "Set as default printer." 

     
  7. Once the printer has finished installing, click OK

     
  8. You should now be able to print to the newly added printer. 

FAQs

How do I have my printer mapped automatically for everyone in my group?

Submit a request to the Health Technology Care Team with the city/building/floor/name of the printer and which group of people should have the printer connected automatically.

Can my printer be hidden so that other people cannot connect to it? 

Yes. Send a request to the Health Technology Care Team with the city/building/floor/name of the printer, which people need access, and a note that it should be hidden.
