Mapping H Drive in Open Access Labs

Introduction

The Technology Services Open Access Labs & University Audio Visual Services have home drives available for students and faculties. Your H: Drive (home drive) will automatically be mapped on an OAL/VOAL computer when you log in. 

Your quota will stay at 5 GB.

Below are instructions to manually map your home drive for your personal devices while on the TAMU network (TAMU_WiFi or TAMU VPN).

Manually Map OAL H: Drive

  1. Go to https://oalinfo.tamu.edu/
  2. Click on Account Services
  3. Log in using your NetID and Password (DUO enabled)
  4. The Account Services page should be open


     
  5. The path to mapping your Home Drive is \\storage.it.tamu.edu\tamu\oal\homes\[NetID]
  6. Once you have the path information. Copy it
  7. Open File Explorer and right-click on This PC located in the left sidebar


     
  8. Select Map network drive... from the menu


     
  9. Select any letter as the Drive letter in the Map Network Drive window (Note: H: Drive used in this example)
  10. Paste the full Home Drive path into the Folder field (\\storage.it.tamu.edu\tamu\oal\homes\[NetID])


     
  11. Leave Reconnect at sign-in selected
  12. Check Connect using different credentials
  13. Click Finish. Your H: Drive (Home Drive) should be listed in the left sidebar as Home Drive (H:)


     
  14. If you get another pop-up asking you to Enter network credentials, please type in your User name as AUTH\[NetID] and your Password
    1. Domain must be AUTH
  15. Check Remember my credentials
  16. Click OK
