TAMU-Health - Identifying an Installed Microsoft Office Version

Overview

This article provides step-by-step instructions for identifying the name and version of the Microsoft Office suite installed on a Windows or macOS device. The process varies slightly depending on the operating system. For questions or assistance, contact the Health Technology Care Team

Windows

  1. Open any Microsoft Office application, such as Word or Excel, and click Account or Help in the lower left corner. 
    NOTE: If you do not see Account or Help, or you already have a file or document open, click File from the menu bar at the top left. Then click Account or Help.
  2. The name and version of your installed Office product is available in the section titled "Product Information." 

     
  3. For additional information about the version, click About Word (or the name of the application you have open).

macOS

  1. Open any Microsoft Office application, such as Word or Excel, and click Word (or the name of the application you have open) at the top left. 
  2. Click About Microsoft Word (or the name of the application you have open).

     
  3. The name and version of your installed Office product is available in the dialog box that opens.
