Overview
This article provides step-by-step instructions for identifying the name and version of the Microsoft Office suite installed on a Windows or macOS device. The process varies slightly depending on the operating system. For questions or assistance, contact the Health Technology Care Team.
Windows
- Open any Microsoft Office application, such as Word or Excel, and click Account or Help in the lower left corner.
NOTE: If you do not see Account or Help, or you already have a file or document open, click File from the menu bar at the top left. Then click Account or Help.
- The name and version of your installed Office product is available in the section titled "Product Information."

- For additional information about the version, click About Word (or the name of the application you have open).
macOS
- Open any Microsoft Office application, such as Word or Excel, and click Word (or the name of the application you have open) at the top left.
- Click About Microsoft Word (or the name of the application you have open).

- The name and version of your installed Office product is available in the dialog box that opens.
