Zoom Videoconferencing - Claiming your TAMU Zoom Account

Overview

 Zoom Pro is a full-featured web collaboration tool that features:

  1. Audio conferencing
  2. Online meeting rooms
  3. Screen sharing
  4. Online whiteboards
  5. in-meeting media sharing

Zoom Videoconferencing is provided by the Texas A&M Office for Academic Innovation. Full documentation for Zoom Pro can be found on Zoom's website.

Eligibility

Zoom Pro is currently only available to the following members of the Texas A&M Systems.

Students

  • Active students currently enrolled in classes.
  • Inactive students currently enrolled in a future semester.
  • Active students not currently enrolled in classes.

Faculty

  • Faculty actively employed by a participating system part.
  • Faculty who are classified as a working retiree.
  • Faculty Emeritus.
  • Faculty who are currently an Instructor of Record for a course being currently offered by the university.
  • Faculty who are listed as an Instructor of Record for a course being offered in a future semester.

Employees

  • Staff actively employed by a participating system part.
  • Staff who are classified as a working retiree.
  • Graduate assistants who are actively employed by a participating system part.
  • Graduate assistants who are classified as a working retiree.
  • Student workers actively employed by a participating system part.
  • Student workers who are classified as a working retiree.

Instructions

To claim your Texas A&M Zoom Pro Account:

  1. Go to https://tamu.zoom.us/.
  2. Click Sign In.
  3. Enter your NetID@tamu.edu and NetID password in the Microsoft authentication screen. If you are already signed into another application that uses Microsoft SSO for your NetID, you will not be prompted to sign in again. Note: You MUST use your NetID@tamu.edu for the login name. You cannot use an emailAlias@tamu.edu.
  4. Click the Confirm your email address button.

     
  5. Click the Approve the Request button that is sent to the email address that was displayed in Step 4. You can also copy and paste the provided confirmation URL into a web browser.

     
  6. If you have previously claimed a free Zoom account using your Texas A&M email address, you will need to acknowledge that you are switching your account to a new Zoom account. This may result in a different set of permissions than your account previously had.
    1. Click on I acknowledge and switch. If you select "Sign into your existing account," you may not have all of the features provided by your Texas A&M Zoom Pro account.

       
    2. Click on Sign into Your Current Account after you receive notification that your account has been switched successfully.
  7. Once you are signed into your Texas A&M Zoom Pro account, you will be taken to your account profile page.
