Supported Versions of Zoom

As of August 17, Texas A&M Zoom accounts are required to use Zoom version 5.9.0 to connect. This is a separate requirement from Zoom's global Software Lifecycle Policy described below.

On November 5, 2022, Zoom will implement its new Software Lifecycle Policy. This policy will require a minimum version of the Zoom software to be used in order to join meetings. For the November 5, 2022 date, the minimum version of the Zoom client supported will be version 5.8.6. Attempting to join a Zoom meeting with a version of the Zoom client older than the minimum will prompt you to either upgrade your version of Zoom or to join the meeting from your web browser. The minimum version of Zoom that will be able to connect to meetings will increment quarterly (every three months) after November 5, 2022.

In preparation for this new Lifecycle Policy, and to address security issues, Zoom is ending support for all version of Zoom older than version 5.3.0 on August 6, 2022. Details of this change can be found on Zoom's website.

Full details, as well as frequently asked questions, can be found on Zoom's support page for their Software Quarterly Lifecycle Policy.
