VOAL - Using Virtual Open Access Labs Web Access

Overview

Virtual Open Access Labs (VOAL) allow you to use software available in Texas A&M University labs from your own computer wherever you are.

Instructions

Logging into the VOAL

  1. Go to https://voal.tamu.edu.
  2. Click the Log In button.
  3. Click Accept.
  4. Enter your NetID credentials.
  5. Click on VOAL.
  6. Wait for Windows to connect to your profile and present your lab desktop.

Logging out of the VOAL

Log out through the VOAL desktop

  1. Right-click the Windows icon on your VOAL desktop.
  2. Click on Shut down or sign out.
  3. Click on Sign out.

Logging out through VMWare Horizon

  1. Click the pull out tab on the left of your VOAL screen.
  2. Click the submenu to the right of VOAL in the VMWare Horizon application tray.
  3. Click on Log off.
  4. Click OK in the warning menu.
  5. Click Close in the Disconnected notification window.

Logging out of VMWare Horizon

  1. Click the pull out tab on the left of the VMWare Horizon screen.
  2. Click the submenu icon at the top-right of the Horizon application tray.
  3. Click on Log out.
  4. Click OK in the Log Off confirmation window.
