Using TAMU credentials to login to Chromebook

Overview

This article contains directions on logging into a Chromebook using a TAMU account.

Instructions

1. Create a Google Apps password via Gateway. 
   1. Log into gateway.tamu.edu
   2. Go to Password Settings
   3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and find Google Apps Password. Click Edit.
   4. Click Get Started
   5. Create your password according to the requirements displayed on the page. 
   6. Click Submit
2. Log into the Chromebook using your TAMU email address (YourNetID@tamu.edu) and the Google Apps password you just created. 

NOTE: Creating a Google Apps password DOES NOT change your NetID password (for Howdy, eCampus, Email, etc). If you already have a Google Apps password but do not remember what it is, you can make a new one by following step 1. Keep in mind that changing your Google Apps password will log you out of any mail clients or devices you previously set up with it.
