Mapping U Drive to access Index File

Introduction

When creating your people.tamu.edu website you will need to access your Unix Drive (commonly referred to as the U: Drive). This drive will contain your public_html folder which has the index.html file you will use to for your website and classes. You can only access this drive through Open Access Lab or Virtual Open Access Lab computers. Your U: drive will not exist until you have enabled your People Web Space.

Enable your web page

  1. Go to https://oalinfo.tamu.edu/
  2. Click on Account Services. Log in with your NetID and password if prompted. NOTE:  If using your NetID and NetID password isn't working, try using "NetID@auth.tamu.edu" or "auth.tamu.edu/NetID"
    • If your People Web Space is enabled, there will be a date and time of when it was enabled, a status message, and a People Web Path. You can continue to map your U: drive.
