Issue
Student is unable to log in to the desktop VMWare Horizon Client for VOAL. They are able to authenticate with DUO and then get an error "login failed", and eventually "account locked".
Environment
• Affiliation with Texas A&M (student, faculty, parent, applicant, etc): Student
• Operating System: Windows 10
• Location: Off Campus
• Application/Host/Website: VOAL, voal.tamu.edu
• Error Message (If applicable): "Login failed." "Account locked."
• Recent changes: Was working fine until recently.
Resolution
Uninstalled the desktop client and reinstalled the client.
Uninstallation:
- Open Settings.
- Go to Apps.
- Locate VMWare Horizon Client and click uninstall.
- Follow prompts in uninstaller if necessary.
Reinstallation:
- Go to voal.tamu.edu
- Click Log In
- Click on "Download VMware Horizon Client"
- Run the installer
- Launch the VMWare Horizon client and log in using the NetID and NetID password
