Software - MultiSim and LabVIEW Installation and Ultiboard Installation

Overview

Installing LabVIEW, Multisim, and Ultiboard requires a four-step process that must be completed to avoid any installation issues.

  1. Purchase LabVIEW, Multisim, and/or Ultiboard and Circuit Design Suite (this is a Windows-only suite that contains Multisim and Ultiboard).
  2. Set up an NI.com user account. If you already have an account, this can be skipped.
  3. Register your products to your NI.com account.
  4. Download and install your products.

Purchasing LabVIEW System Design

If you have already purchased LabVIEW previously or are unable to purchase LabVIEW through software.tamu.edu, please contact Help Desk Central: https://it.tamu.edu/help/

  1. Go to software.tamu.edu and click on the logo of your institution to log in.
  2. Log in with the respective credentials you would use for your institution's Login.   
    1. If you are using the TAMU NetID login, log in with your NetID and NetID password.
  3. Authenticate with your preferred authenticate method.        
    1. If you cannot authenticate, you will need to contact Help Desk Central for bypass codes. Please call (979) 845-8300 or visit the Computing Services Complex (CSC), room CS00
    2. If neither of the above options work for you, you can start a chat at help.tamu.edu or email helpdesk@tamu.edu and request a Zoom meeting. Bypass codes cannot be given out over email or chat. 
  4. Scroll down to LabVIEW System Design and click Details.
  5. Select the LabVIEW version that you wish to install for your device's OS.
  6. Click on the Cart Icon in the top-right-hand corner of the page.
  7. Click Check Out >>
  8. Enter your phone number and email address.
  9. Click Next >>

Your order for LabVIEW has been submitted and may take up to an hour to be sent to your inbox.

 Set up NI User Account

  1. Go to the ni.com account creation page.
  2. Complete the form.
  3. Click Create Account. A confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided.
  4. Click the confirmation link in the email.
  5. Optional: click the check box to receive product email.
  6. Click Continue. If you did not select to receive product emails, you will need to also click Continue without consent.

Register NI Products

  1. Log into ni.com.
  2. Click your user profile icon in the upper right and select My Account.
  3. Provide additional profile information if prompted.
  4. Click on the View My Products link in the Products and Services section of your account page.
  5. Enter the serial number provided to you by the Texas A&M Software Center for the application you are registering.
    • LabVIEW: This will be the Student Install Option code
    • Multisim Power Pro: This will be the Serial Number
    • Ultiboard Power Pro: This will be the Serial Number
  6. Click Register. A new product should be displayed on your page.
    • LabVIEW will appear as “Student Install Option, Term, Active AVL or ASL Contract required, must buy NEW each year.”
    • Multisim will appear as “Multisim Power Pro Edition, Subscription License, Download.”
    • Ultiboard will appear as “Ultiboard Power Pro Edition, Subscription License, Download.”

Download and Install LabVIEW and Multisim

  1. Log into ni.com.
  2. Click your user profile icon in the upper right and select My Products.
  3. Click on the Select Action drop-down menu to the right of your software license and select Download Software.
  4. Click on Download.
  5. Open the installer for the downloaded package.
  6. Follow the prompts. Most classes will only require you to install the default products and settings selected.
  7. Click Install. After installation has concluded, a pop window will appear for you to activate your software.
  8. Click on Log in to Activate and log in with your NI credentials.
  9. Click on the drop-down menu and select Enter a serial number when prompted to activate your license.
  10. Type in the serial number as done previously into one of the open fields and select Activate.
  11. Confirm the selected products to be activated. You will then be asked to restart your device. After a successful reboot, the software will now be accessible on your device.
