Twingate - Reauthentication on All Devices

Overview

The reauthentication process in the Twingate application on both Windows and Mac devices is designed to maintain secure and uninterrupted access to network resources. This process typically occurs when session tokens expire, or if the application detects a change in the device's security posture.

Re-Authenticating with the Twingate Client (Mac)

If the Twingate Client shows a gray dot in the taskbar (see below), it simply means that you are trying to access a Resource and need to re-authenticate before you can connect to that Resource.


If this happens, simply click on the gray dot then click on “Additional Authentication Needed” to be prompted for your credentials.

Re-Authenticating with the Twingate Client (Windows) 

  1. When the Twingate Client shows a red dot in the taskbar (see below), it simply means that you are trying to access a Resource and need to re-authenticate before you can connect to that Resource.
  2. Simply click on the Twingate icon and you will be able to see what resources need to be re-authenticated.
  3. Click on any resources under Pending Authentication to authenticate.
  4. Once authenticated, the window will close.

Re-Authenticating with the Twingate Client (Linux)

  1. If the Twingate Client shows a gray dot in the taskbar (see below), it simply means that you are trying to access a Resource and need to re-authenticate before you can connect to that Resource.
  2. Simply click on Authenticate and you will be able to see what resources need to be re-authenticated.
  3. Once authenticated, the window will close.
