Leadership Coaching

Overview

Leadership coaching aims to enhance a leader's skills and effectiveness. University leaders have the option of utilizing the university’s internal coaching network or contracting leadership coaching services with our external partner, Sounding Board.

Use this service request to ask questions about:
  • Leadership coaching for front line leaders (i.e., supervisors, managers, assistant/associate directors, assistant/associate department heads): Focuses on supporting supervisors and managers as they develop communication, people management, conflict management, and team development skills.  This level of coaching is also appropriate for new supervisors and managers transitioning from an individual contributor role to a first-time leader role.
  • Leadership coaching for mid-level leaders (i.e., directors, department heads, executive directors, assistant/associate vice presidents, assistant/associate deans): Aims to strengthen strategic thinking, decision-making, and operational leadership skills to ensure continued success.
  • Executive coaching (i.e., vice presidents, deans, provost, president, c-suite executives): Supports senior leaders in refining their leadership style, enhance strategic thinking, and improve overall effectiveness by catering to the unique challenges faced by senior leaders.  Executive coaching is provided exclusively by Sounding Board.
  • Coaching for leadership teams: Effectively build a cohesive, high-performing leadership team that works well together and drives organizational success.
Eligibility

University leaders at all levels.
