Confirming and Rejecting Messages

Why does a moderator have to confirm or reject their own messages sent to their list?

The confirmation step gives the moderator a final chance to check the content of the message. Also, some viruses hijack computers to send email without the knowledge of the account owner. The verification process ensures that only legitimate messages are sent to the list group.

How long does the moderator of a list have to accept or reject a message?

The moderator of a group has seven days, starting from the date a sender sends a message to the group and a distribute/reject request email is sent to the moderator(s).

If a list has more than one moderator, can a message be accepted or rejected more than once?

No, confirmation emails become invalid as soon as the first distribute/reject command is processed.

I am a moderator of a list and sent the confirmation message. I did not receive a reply stating that the message was distributed. What should I do?

Please notify Help Desk Central if more than 15 minutes have elapsed since the email was sent.
