Overview
Occasionally you will be able to access certain TAMU websites and resources using your NetID/NetID password, but will be unable to access certain other resources. You may get a message saying: "The credentials you have provided cannot be determined to be authentic."
When this happens, you will have to perform what is called a password flush. This will re-propagate your password across the servers.
Steps for Performing a Password Flush:
Option One:
- Go to gateway.tamu.edu and login using your NetID and NetID password
- Navigate to "Password Settings" on the left-hand center of the screen
- You will be prompted to log in again as an extra security measure, once through, select "Change Password"
- Change your password to your current password. That is, input the password you are already using
NOTE: If your password is close to expiring, it will not let you use the same password. Instead, you will have to create a new password.
Option Two:
- Go to password.tamu.edu and login using your UIN and date of birth.
- If you are enrolled in Self Service Password Reset, you may use that contact for an access code
- Otherwise, call Help Desk Central for an access code
- Change your password to your current password. That is, input the password you are already using
NOTE: If your password is close to expiring, it will not let you use the same password. Instead, you will have to create a new password.
Once you have done this, attempt to login to the website/system you were previously unable to access
