Mobile Device Management - iOS Enrollment Guide

Overview

The purpose of the KB Article is to allow IT Professionals to assist an End User (Primary user of the phone) through the device enrollment process. This will bring any University Owned and operated Apple iOS Cellular Device under security compliance.

  • This guide only applies to Apple devices running iOS 13.x or greater for iPhones or iPadOS 13.x or greater for iPads.
  • The end user will need their NetId and password to register the device
  • It is recommended that any data that is needed is backed up before proceeding

Note: DO NOT perform these instructions on a personally owned device.

Enrolling a New Device

Contact your local IT professional with the Serial Number of your iPhone of iPad before continuing. Follow the steps on the Enrollment Guide with the End User. You may need to share a screen with them if talking over the phone or send them a link to the site so that they can scan the QR codes. If they walk in, have them scan the QR code and follow the directions.

Required App Downloads

Ensure that the following applications are downloaded to the device:

  • Self Service Portal
  • Code Maroon

This may take some time. Once the applications are downloaded, ensure that all applications on the phone are up to date by checking for updates in the iOS App Store.

Finalize Setup and Survey

Please ensure the user has all the capability they need through their device.

Once enrolled - Update or add the device to the SharePoint List

Request that the user complete the following survey
