Issue
Campus member needs to change their password on a proxy email account.
Environment
- Application/Host/Website: Proxy email account
- Error Message (If applicable): Under password reset on Neoweb it says: "Neoweb does not support password resets for special purpose accounts"
Resolution
Shared NetIDs do not have the same privileges as a personal NetID account, and cannot access Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or a Texas A&M email account by default.
Changing the password on proxy accounts:
- Go to https://gateway.tamu.edu/settings/proxy/
- Login using NetID/NetID password
- Choose the Shared NetID (or the tab applicable to your proxy account type)
- Select Edit
- Change the Password
