Overview
Email lists in TAMUDirect are moderated by default. This document explains process of sending messages to a TAMUDirect list and then approving or denying those messages.
Instructions
1. Compose your message in your preferred email client and address it to your TAMUDirect list address.
2. When a message is sent to a TAMUDirect list that is moderated, all of the list moderators will receive a notification similar to the one below. You will need to click the link labeled approve or reject in order to allow the message to be delivered or to deny it.
3. If you are not logged into google.tamu.edu on the web browser where the link opens, you will be greeted with a blank page with a permission denied error in the bottom corner.
If you receive this error, you will need to log into http://google.tamu.edu/ in your web browser, or copy link into a browser where you are already logged in. You can copy the link out of your browser's address bar. Alternatively, click on the "Sign in" button in the upper-right corner, enter your NetID@tamu.edu, and click "Next." Then, sign in with your NetID and password.
4. If you are logged into https://google.tamu.edu by default, or if you paste the URL into a browser where you are logged in, you will be able to view a list of all pending messages that need approval.
5. Click on the message subject to preview the message and determine if it should be approved for delivery. Any attachments to the message will be displayed below the message. To approve or reject the message, place a check in the box to the left of the message.
6. Approve the message by clicking the message icon with the check mark in the group of icons above the pending messages.
The first icon will approve the message for immediate delivery.
The second icon will approve this message as well as ALL FUTURE MESSAGES sent by the SAME SENDER.
The third icon will mark the message as spam and ban the message author from sending to list in the future.
The fourth icon will delete the message undelivered.
7. Once approved, the message will be delivered to all of the list members and will appear in the online archive of the list.
