IT Service Portal Overview

The IT Service Portal provides a single website for Texas A&M students, faculty, and staff to request IT services, find instructions or self-help resources, request tech help and view the status of their tickets. You can browse and search the IT Service Portal without logging in, but you will need to sign in with your NetID and password to submit a ticket and access all the features. *Please note: Technology Services is working to migrate all IT services and help resources to the IT Service Portal. Some resources may still be located on the IT.tamu.edu website.

Search the IT Service Portal

Rather than trying to find the exact service or knowledge article you need, use the search box in the upper right-hand corner of the portal. Enter keywords that match what you're looking for, like email support or wireless help.

Helpful tips:

  • The search box in the upper right searches both the Service Catalog and the Knowledge Base. To search for only services (or only knowledge articles), click the globe icon next to the search bar and choose the area you want to search.
  • You may see more services if you log into the portal first. Some services are only available to certain groups and are only visible if you are logged in.

Favorite Services or Articles

If there are services or knowledge articles that you use a lot, you can add them to your favorites. Just click on the "Add to Favorites" button (only visible if you are signed in) so that you can easily find it later.

  • To access your favorite services, click on My Favorites under Services.
  • To access your favorite articles, click on My Favorites under Knowledge Base.

Service Catalog

You can use the Service Catalog to request or ask for help with an IT service. See How to Use the Service Catalog to Request Service for more information.

Knowledge Base

You can use the Knowledge Base to find self-help instructions or answers for your IT questions.  See How to Use the Knowledge Base to Find Answers for more information.

View and Edit Tickets

Click Log In to See Tickets” on the homepage of the IT Service Portal  to see your recent tickets, provide comments, or track the status of your requests. See How to Submit, View and Edit Tickets for more information.

You will receive an email from ittickets@tamu.edu when you submit a service request and when your ticket is updated or resolved. You can communicate with Technology Services by replying to the email or going to the IT Service Portal and adding a comment in the ticket.
