TAMU-OAL - How to Print on the OAL Computers

Direct Printing from OAL Computers to OAL Printers

When using a computer in one of the three main computer labs on campus (Student Computing Center, Blocker, and West Campus Library) you may print directly to the printers in the print room or to several black and white or color kiosk printers.

1. From the top left corner of your document screen, go to File > Print.

2. Under Printer, click the dropdown box and a list of network printers will appear. [fig. 01]

3. From the printer options dropdown box, please select the corresponding OAL lab printer listed.

4. You may then configure the print settings. Depending on the type of setting you wish to modify (single or duplexing, pages per sheet, number of copies, etc.), click on the respective dropdown box and make your selection. If you wish to print in color, please select the Color Printing – OAL Kiosk printer, and visit the designated print kiosk to release your print job. 5. To hole-punch, select the option with the number of holes you wish to apply. Then, choose the location and orientation of the holes for your printout. Click OK [fig. 03]

6. To both staple and hole-punch, select the option with the number of staples and holes you wish to apply. Then, choose the location and orientation of the staple(s) and holes for your printout. Click OK [fig. 04]

7. If you are printing a PowerPoint presentation and wish to save paper and reduce the cost of your print job, you may print multiple slides per page. To do this, go to File > Print. Under Settings, click the Full Page Slides dropdown box and select the number of slides you wish to print on one side. [fig. 05]

8. If you are printing a PDF file and wish to print multiple pages per sheet, under Page Sizing & Handling, click on Multiple. This will bring up the Pages per sheet option. In the boxes underneath, please enter the number of rows and columns to set the number of pages you wish to print on one side. [fig. 06]

9. After modifying all of your print settings, click Print. A pop-up window listing the charges associated with your file will appear. To accept the charge, click Yes. Once you click Yes, the cost of the print job deduct from your balance and the job will immediately release to the OAL printer. You must make all necessary changes to the print settings before printing. [fig. 07]

10. To pick up your files, please visit the OAL print room located in the building.
