Performance Evaluation Support

Overview

The Staff Performance Evaluation process launches on April 1 for non-faculty (staff) employees for the Performance Review Period of 4/1/2025 through 3/31/2026. Employees and supervisors receive performance evaluation tasks to complete within Workday.

The Performance Evaluation Support service is available to assist staff and supervisors with questions or requests related to the performance evaluation process, including routing issues, cancellations, extensions, and other evaluation-related actions.

Use this service request to ask questions about:
  • Ask a Performance Evaluation Question:  Use this option for general questions about the performance evaluation process, timelines, expectations, or required actions within Workday.
  • Request an Extension for a Performance Evaluation:  Use this option to request additional time to complete a performance evaluation when circumstances prevent completion by the established deadline.
  • Request to Advance a Performance Evaluation: Select this option when an evaluation needs to be progressed to the next stage (for example, moving past the employee self‑evaluation) so the manager can begin working on the evaluation.
  • Request to Cancel a Performance Evaluation:  Select this option to cancel an evaluation when appropriate, such as when an employee has separated from employment or the evaluation was created in error.
  • Update Manager for Performance Evaluation Routing:  Select this option when an evaluation has been routed incorrectly or when a manager change requires updating the routing of an evaluation.
  • Send Back a Performance Evaluation:  Instructions for a Manager on how to return an evaluation to a previous step for correction.
Eligibility
This service is available to staff employees and supervisors who are participating in or supporting the Staff Performance Evaluation process.

Use this option for general questions about the performance evaluation process, timelines, expectations, or required actions within Workday.
Request an Extension for a Performance Evaluation
Use this option to request additional time to complete a performance evaluation when circumstances prevent completion by the established deadline.
Request to Advance a Performance Evaluation
This article explains when and how to request advancement of a performance evaluation in Workday so a manager can proceed when an employee is unable to complete a self‑evaluation.
Request to Cancel a Performance Evaluation
Select this option to cancel an evaluation when appropriate, such as when an employee has separated from employment or the evaluation was created in error.
Update Manager for Performance Evaluation Routing
Select this option when an evaluation has been routed incorrectly or when a manager change requires updating the routing of an evaluation.
Send Back a Performance Evaluation
Managers can send back a performance evaluation in Workday using the My Team’s Performance Reviews page when updates or corrections are needed. The Send Back option returns the evaluation to the appropriate step for revision.
